Gravois Park Neighborhood Meeting

The Gravois Park Neighborhood Association meets this Tuesday, August 8th, and every second Tuesday at 6PM in the old Jefferson Bank building at 3353 California, just north of Cherokee.

Dutchtown West Neighborhood Meeting

The Dutchtown West Neighborhood Association meets this Tuesday, August 8th, and every second Tuesday at 7PM at Grbic Banquet Hall, 4071 Keokuk St.

Gravois-Jefferson Draft Plan Summit

The Gravois-Jefferson Historic Neighborhoods Plan will meet to work on their final plans to be submitted. The summit is Thursday, August 10th, from 4—8pm at Froebel School, 3709 Nebraska. Refreshments and child care will be provided. Visit the Facebook event page for more information.

So Fresh, So Clean, So Creative: Back to School

Dutchtown South‘s So Fresh, So Clean, So Creative initiative is presenting another workshop at the Thomas Dunn Learning Center on Saturday, August 12th, at 11am. Learn about the impact of buying school clothes and uniforms new vs. used and how to pack a zero waste school lunch.

Join the Dutchtown South Community Corporation for an evening of fun, food, and education on Friday, July 7th at the Thomas Dunn Learning Center.

Learn how to reduce, reuse, recycle, and reclaim waste as part of DSCC’s So Fresh, So Clean, So Creative Southside initiative.

DSCC Looking for Community Champions

The Dutchtown South Community Corporation is seeking Junior and Senior Community Champions to help get the word out about their So Fresh, So Clean, So Creative Southside initiative to raise awareness and address solid waste concerns.

Community Champions will canvass the neighborhood to inform and recruit neighbors for trainings and workshops and conduct neighborhood cleanups.

Upcoming Neighborhood Events

Several events are taking place around the neighborhood in the last full week of May:

  • Iron Barley celebrates their 14th anniversary with May Fest of Sunday (May 21st) from 2:00—7:00.
  • The Marine Villa Neighborhood Meeting is Monday night (May 22nd) at 7:00 at the Irish Corner Pub on Cherokee, with a special focus on crime and safety.
  • Prosperity Connection’s new South City Wealth Accumulation Center at Gravois and Oregon is having an open house on Tuesday evening (May 23rd) from 4:00—6:30.
  • Also on Tuesday, at 6:30, Urban Matter on Virginia is hosting the Metropolis Wine Club.
  • Wednesday morning (May 24th) at 9:00 is the public hearing for the Dutchtown CID at City Hall.

Prosperity Connection’s New Wealth Accumulation Center Open House

South City Wealth Accumulation Center

Prosperity Connection is hosting a free Community Open House event next Tuesday for neighbors to tour and meet the staff of the brand new South City Wealth Accumulation Center, a cooperative initiative with St. Louis Community Credit Union.

The new Wealth Accumulation Center (or WAC) is located at 2828 Gravois in the Benton Park West neighborhood, just north of Dutchtown, at the corner of Gravois and Oregon across from QuikTrip. The open house runs from 4:00—6:30, and light refreshments and kid-friendly activities will be available.
