20th Ward Streets Meeting

Traffic MeetingJoin Alderman Cara Spencer and CBB Traffic Engineers on Wednesday, August 17th to discuss the preliminary findings of the recent 20th ward traffic study.

Neighbors are invited to provide input on future changes such as one-way street designations and traffic calming measures to make the neighborhood safer and easier to travel for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians alike.

The meeting is on August 17th, 6:30pm  at Thomas Dunn Learning Center. We hope you can attend!

Head down to Iron Barley (5510 Virginia) on August 14th from 12:00 to 6:00 for their 12th Annual Tomato Fest!

Tomato Fest is a community event that features tomato art, unusual tomatoes, food and drink. There will be live music, craft vendors, games and more. All proceeds benefit Lift for Life Gym.

Adopt a Bus Stop

Adopt-a-Stop signMetro has just launched a new Adopt-a-Stop program. Adopt-A-Stop is a bus stop sponsorship program where businesses, organizations, and individuals are invited to adopt a neighborhood MetroBus stop and help keep the area around it free from litter.

Many residents and businesses already try to keep nearby bus stops clean. Now Metro is offering additional encouragement. Sponsors will be provided with trash bags and other materials needed to keep up their area as well as having their name displayed on a sign.

It is free to sponsor a bus stop. For more information on adopting a stop please visit Metro’s website or call 314-982-1466.

August Neighborhood Meetings on Tuesday

Both the Gravois Park and Dutchtown West Neighborhood Associations meet this Tuesday, August 9th.

Gravois Park meets at 6pm at 3353 California, just north of Cherokee, in the former Jefferson Bank building.

Dutchtown West meets at 7pm at Grbic Banquet Hall, 4071 Keokuk at Meramec.

Both meetings will feature updates from SLMPD liaison officers, Neighborhood Improvement Specialists, and elected officials.

Free Summer Meals for Kids & Teens

Operation Food Search is offering free lunches to kids and teenagers this summer. Summer meals are offered every weekday, in multiple locations in and around Dutchtown:

  • Fox Manor Apartments (4725 S. Spring): 1:20–1:50pm
  • Amberg Park: 3:20–3:50pm
  • Mount Pleasant Park: 4:00–4:30pm

smOn Tuesday, July 26th, St. Mary’s High School will have snow cones and prizes in addition to the free summer meals. Come down to the Fox Manor Apartments from 1:00–2:00pm for this event.
