- Meet the basic CID Statute requirements, at a minimum:
- Be at least eighteen years of age; and
- Be either:
- An owner, as defined in section 67.1401 of the RSMo, of real property or of a business operating within the district; or
- A registered voter residing within the district; and
- Satisfy any other qualifications set forth in the petition establishing the district.
- Either be an owner of real property in the District or the legally authorized representative of such an owner, or an owner of a business operating within the District or the legally authorized representative of such owner.
- There may be other criteria that our Board needs to consider, and which may change over time Including, but not limited to:
- The Standard 4 Ws for Boards (Wealth, Weight, Wisdom, Worker), representative of a specific population on the footprint (immigrant, business owner, etc.), skill set (attorney, accountant, etc.), or location on the footprint.
- Fill out an Interest Form.
- Attend a Board Meeting or Special Meeting to interact with current Board Members, if possible.
- The Board assesses all candidates and votes to approve (nominate) a Candidate, contingent on Mayoral approval.
- The nominated Candidate submits their City Application for Mayoral approval.
- Mayor’s office screens the Candidate, and then sends a determination letter to the Candidate and a copy to the Board Chairperson.
- If approved by the Mayor, the Candidate gets sworn in at the City Registrar.
