1. Meet the basic CID Statute requirements, at a minimum:
    1. Be at least eighteen years of age; and
    2. Be either:
    3. An owner, as defined in section 67.1401 of the RSMo, of real property or of a business operating within the district; or 
    4. A registered voter residing within the district; and 
    5. Satisfy any other qualifications set forth in the petition establishing the district. 
    6. Either be an owner of real property in the District or the legally authorized representative of such an owner, or an owner of a business operating within the District or the legally authorized representative of such owner. 
  2. There may be other criteria that our Board needs to consider, and which may change over time Including, but not limited to:
    • The Standard 4 Ws for Boards (Wealth, Weight, Wisdom, Worker), representative of a specific population on the footprint (immigrant, business owner, etc.), skill set (attorney, accountant, etc.), or location on the footprint.
  3. Fill out an Interest Form
  4. Attend a Board Meeting or Special Meeting to interact with current Board Members, if possible.
  5. The Board assesses all candidates and votes to approve (nominate) a Candidate, contingent on Mayoral approval. 
  6. The nominated Candidate submits their City Application for Mayoral approval.
  7. Mayor’s office screens the Candidate, and then sends a determination letter to the Candidate and a copy to the Board Chairperson.
  8. If approved by the Mayor, the Candidate gets sworn in at the City Registrar.
