The German Cultural Society is one of the largest and one of the most successful of the German societies in the St. Louis area, with a multi-purpose building and hall on Jefferson Avenue and the Donau Park facility in Jefferson County for outdoor events. The German Cultural Society is a not-for-profit, non-political organization whose purpose is to foster educational and benevolent activities, to preserve and advance the German culture, customs, and language, and to cultiviate German music, songs, and dances in traditional costumes.
Visit the German Cultural Society’s Jefferson Hall for a German-style sausage dinner! Enjoy your meal for dine-in or carry-out, along with live music and German dance.
There is a rich and impressive history of German Abolitionists who fought for a color-blind democracy in Missouri. Learn more about this history at a symposium at the German Cultural Center.
