What’s Brewing is a series of breakfast conversations to explore issues, connections, and opportunities for St. Louis area neighborhoods.

Creating Whole Communities has partnered with the Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis’ Community Arts Training Institute and local artists and leaders that are actively engaged in these neighborhoods to explore how arts and culture influence and impact community development. The Dutchtown neighborhood has a rich cultural history, numerous arts and cultural organizations, and many artists that live and/or work there. This community offers many strong examples and lessons learned along the way about the roles that arts and culture play in community revitalization.

Join us for this breakfast conversation to explore arts and culture in community development. This session will include a brief background presentation by Dr. Todd Swanstrom of UMSL, a panel discussion featuring neighborhood leaders who have played key roles in the community’s development through arts and culture, and a group discussion to explore opportunities and strategies to utilize arts in neighborhood improvement.

This event is free, but registration is required. Light refreshments will be provided.
