Meramec Sidewalk Sale

The businesses of Meramec Street are holding an early fall Sidewalk Sale on Friday and Saturday. Check out the shops and snag some deals!

Amberg Park Cleanup

Join your neighbors from noon til 3pm at Amberg Park and help to spruce up your neighborhood!

Animate Your Park

The final Animate Your Park pop-up event is this Saturday from 5pm til 7pm in the parking lot at Universal Supermarket, 4330 South Broadway. Participants will be able to make props and puppets for an animated film about Laclede Park and Minnie Wood Square to be screened this fall.

September Neighborhood Meetings

SLMPD Third District Community Outreach Meeting

Come to the 5 Star Senior Center on Thursday, September 8th at 6:30 for the quarterly Community Outreach Meeting for the Third District. The Third District includes portions of Dutchtown east of Grand and north of Meramec. The featured guest speaker will be Lt. Mike Mueller of the Special Operations Unit.

Gravois Park Neighborhood Association Monthly Meeting

The Gravois Park Neighborhood Association meets at 6:00 this Tuesday and every second Tuesday of the month at the old Jefferson Bank building, 3353 California at Cherokee.

Dutchtown West Neighborhood Association Monthly Meeting

The Dutchtown West Neighborhood Association meets at 7:00 this Tuesday and every second Tuesday of the month at Grbic Banquet Hall, Keokuk and Meramec.

Mount Pleasant Neighborhood Association Quarterly Meeting

The Mount Pleasant Neighborhood Association meets quarterly. Their next meeting is Wednesday, September 28th, 7pm at the Gretchen Inn at Feasting Fox.

Animate Your Park

Animate Your Park flyerAs part of their 2016 Pocket Park Project, the Dutchtown South Community Corporation wants you to help create a stop-motion animated film about Minnie Wood Memorial Square and Laclede Park to be screened this fall.

Four pop-up events will be held over the next month. Neighbors are invited to create puppets of themselves performing their favorite park activities, or to build props of new features they would like to see added to the park.

The art stations will pop up at the following locations:

  • Friday, August 19th, 6–8pm, Minnie Wood Park
  • Monday, August 22nd, 5–7pm, Chippewa/Broadway fountain
  • Saturday, September 3rd, 12–2pm, Marquette Park (parking lot across from the rec center)
  • Saturday, September 17th, 5–7pm, Universal Foods parking lot (4330 South Broadway)

DT2 After Hours: Urban Eats 8th Anniversary and CID Signing Party

6285584598_09c90865ea_bJoin the Downtown Dutchtown Business Association on Wednesday, August 17th for their monthly After Hours at Urban Eats as they celebrate eight years at the corner of Meramec and Virginia. Come by for live music, food, and drinks!

This is also the first Community Improvement District signing party. Notaries will be on hand to certify signatures for those within the CID wishing to sign the petition.

After Hours starts at 5:30pm on Wednesday, August 17th at Urban Eats, 3301 Meramec at Virginia.

20th Ward Streets Meeting

Traffic MeetingJoin Alderman Cara Spencer and CBB Traffic Engineers on Wednesday, August 17th to discuss the preliminary findings of the recent 20th ward traffic study.

Neighbors are invited to provide input on future changes such as one-way street designations and traffic calming measures to make the neighborhood safer and easier to travel for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians alike.

The meeting is on August 17th, 6:30pm  at Thomas Dunn Learning Center. We hope you can attend!
